People in the know have been telling us that Lenovo systems are infested with Chinese spytech for a long time. Nobody really seemed to care. Until now. And lest you think superfish is something new, check out these comments from 2010. It's a known virus. But they finally found a guy who cares and who said something and now, in what is becoming a well worn path, Lenovo is apologizing even while it claims it didn't know that the SW was a spyware scam. Even more importantly, none of the AV SW flagged it. I maintain that all that AV SW is suspect. The way it can slow the system down makes me wonder in just what way it is using your CPU's processing power against you. As the "researcher" says the real problem has become "what can we trust". Without trust and confidence, no con game can move forward.
In other news where big corporations are under attack, AMEX is now under the government microscope for violating antitrust laws. I guess everyone just figured out what their rates were as well, not like any changes have been made in a long time... Perhaps they will be apologizing soon as well.
See a pattern?
