In the backlink , the con men who think they are actually the boss of us tossed a Kentucky clerk in jail for refusing to comply with Supreme court mandate that states issue gay marriage licenses. In that post I wrote (yellow highlight just added):, "Government should release her from jail and quietly fire her. That is
the best possible outcome they can achieve. The longer they have her in
custody for not genuflecting to their authority, the more likely that
this will blow up into something much bigger than government ever
imagined. I will count it as failed intimidation if they simply release
here from jail and fire her. The liberal part of their actions was to
jail her in an attempt to scare her into compliance. That was the shark
jump aspect of it, not their requirement that she follow the law.
There is also a good chance that they will just let her out of jail with
a warning, let her go back to work and just allow others in her office
that do not have her religious convictions that she does to handle the
gay permits. That really would have been the most intelligent thing to
do in the first place.".
The yellow highlight was the weakest possible response from government. They not only did not keep her in jail as they promised to; they didn't even fire her. All they did was tell her not to interfere with others who would not have religious objection to the act: "Kim Davis... walked out of jail on Tuesday after the U.S. district
court judge who found her in contempt said he was satisfied licenses
were being issued in accordance with a U.S. Supreme Court decision. U.S. District Judge David Bunning ordered her release after six days
in jail, saying she "shall not interfere in any way, directly or
indirectly, with the efforts of her deputy clerks to issue marriage
licenses to all legally eligible couples." If she tries to interfere, "that will be considered a violation of
this Order and appropriate sanctions will be considered," Bunning said."
Clearly the government lost face here even though it did a hasty retreat so as not to get its ass kicked even harder. Why did the government do it? Because it wanted to cede power back to the people? NO. It did what it did out of fear for first its jobs and second its lives. When the people gather in numbers like this, anything can happen, especially when religion is involved since it tends to whip up emotions: "Davis was greeted by over one thousand singing and shouting
supporters. "I just want to give God his glory," an emotional Davis said
in brief remarks to supporters after being released from jail. "She will do her job good and she will serve the people as they want
her to serve. She will also be loyal to God and she is not going to
violate her conscience," her lawyer, Mathew Staver, said, with his arm
around Davis. She was also flanked by Republic presidential candidate
Mike Huckabee.".
And yes, fake GOP parasite Huckabee was there to get his face in front of cameras. What a phony.

I watched this episode from a distance, not so much paying attention to the details, but to the overarching theme: the state jailed someone indefinitely until she would violate her beliefs genuflecting at the state. The state was ultra confident in itself by throwing the book and the kitchen sink at her, thinking that society had at last bent down to is control after it redefined the basic cell of society, the family. The reaction must have been a rude awakening. I increasingly think that we are witnessing the swan's song of liberalism. Not that this event is the last or the worst, on the contrary, for hubris precedes the fall.
