Aussie PM: "Carbon tax is gone".

Today Australia's Prime Minister, Tony Abbott, declared the death of the carbon tax in the land down under.  In case you don't know it, taxing carbon was just another way to sneakily allow government to take a larger share of the temporary prosperity that was being driven by the global debt Ponzi.  Now that global credit is in decline, the money supply has begun to contract and that is affecting the corporations world wide.  The contraction is now picking up pace and I'm sure the corporations of the marginal players, like the Aussies, are getting hit first and will end up getting hit the worst.  It has nothing to do with their goodness or badness.  They simply are a smaller flywheel.

In any case, expect the whole liberal "green" thing to just die out soon.  Not that people don't want to conserve, etc. but rather the vilification of consumption will be reduced.  When Jimmy Carter was in office, the national speed limit was set to stupidly slow 55 mph in the name of safety.  They came up with annoying little slogans like "drive to arrive alive" and other such horse shit.  They crammed it down our throats sideways.  But the regulations had nothing whatsoever to do with safety.  It had to do with inflation.  The interest rates were skyrocketing indicating a demand for cash.  Carter and his cohorts simply wanted to slow us all down economically.  This is what the wet blanket treatment is.  It was simple herd management.

But with the collapsing global money supply they now want just the opposite.  They want to ignite our animal spirits and that means not only removing the wet blanket but then dousing us with gasoline and handing us a lit match.  For example, in TX right now the speed limit is 75mph on freeways and 80mph on major tollways.  I guess we don't care about safety anymore, huh?  Maybe they should come up with a new slogan like "don't drive so slow you freaking ho"!

The more I look the more I see rapidly accelerating signs that the new conservatism is coming and it will lead to more freedoms, more privacy and smaller government.  Not because anyone wants to mind you, but rather because that is the natural state of people in absence of a corrupt money supply.  As the fraudulent cash goes the way of carbon tax, we will return to a paygo, get what you earned society with much fewer uber rich people and many more normal folks who are doing quite well for themselves.  This will be a short squeeze on the naked shorting of labor that I have written about many times.  It could get a lot worse before it gets any better though.  We have a lot of the old corrupt ways still in place and it all needs to implode before we can build a new future on the graves of the good old boy (crony capitalism) club.
