An article at Sheeple today shows what happened when the VA tried to set precedent in citizen disarmament by threatening to disarm a man for being what they called "financially incompetent". Now, the man may indeed be just that, but how that gives any government agency the right to confiscate firearms (or anything else for that matter) is beyond me. It basically comes down to saying something 3 times and if nobody complains then it becomes true in the mind of the speaker.
Fortunately in this case "dozens" of concerned people found out about it and went to stand vigil at the guy's house. Needless to say, the government agent never showed up to take next steps on confiscation.
So basically, if you are beholden to government for your food and rent money, even though such payments are actually called out in a legal contract in which you exchanged your military service for such benefits, the government thinks it owns you like livestock. 2-3 years ago the government would have shown up and tried to confiscate the guns. Had the man resisted using force, he would have been declared insane and SWAT would have watered his front yard with his blood.
Not no more people. The herd is now defending its weak from the predators and pickings are going to get mighty, mighty slim for the police state going forward. And because of this it will diminish and for no other reason. Not because it learned a lesson, not because it saw error in its ways, simply because the herd stomped its hooves and said in unison, "Not no more.".
