NY Times expresses the view of centrist dems.

After all the lies, falsified evidence and false accusations against Trump which the dem's own investigation results now prove to be lies and falsifications, the NY Times has finally decided to weigh in with the centrist dem position.  They say, and quite fairly so, that those who made all these matter of fact sounding claims should do the decent thing and come forward to apologize.  The times specifically calls out Beto, Schiff and others as needing to do the right thing and admit they were wrong.

While I do like the tone of "can't we all just get along" (i.e. live and let live), I'm not sure that an apology goes far enough.  "We're gonna impeach the mother fucker" pretty much vocalized the attempted coup put on by the left not only pre election, but post election as well.  So while Beto might only deserve to make an apology, those who lied to FISA in order to obtain legal permission to spy on Trump's crowd really need to be held accountable legally.  They lied to the secret court which should never be allowed to exist in the first place in order to deprive Trump's cronies of their constitutional rights.  And they conspired to do so.  Thus, they should be tried under RICO statues and face heavy jail time as a warning to those who might try it in the future.

There's another aspect of the NY Times article that also doesn't sit right with me.  They lead with "Democrats might approach this moment with an attitude of humility and honest self-examination.".  That statement is supported by the facts which is that a bunch of corrupt shit was done in order to try to paint Trump as a traitor.  Treason is punishable by death so, no, we can't think of this as a hoax.  But then, in true liberal form, the NY times also tries to paint the right with the shit brush by saying, "Republicans and the Sean Hannity-style Trumpians might also approach this moment with an attitude of humility and honest self-examination. For two years they’ve been calling the Mueller investigation a witch hunt. For two years they’ve been spreading the libel that there are no honest brokers in Washington. It’s all a deep-state conspiracy, a swamp. They should apologize for peddling the sort of deep cynicism that undermines our country’s institutions."

Typical liberal bullshit.  Take all the credit you can but never accept all the blame you deserve.  Let's break this paragraph down and look at the facts:

"Republicans and the Sean Hannity-style Trumpians might also approach this moment with an attitude of humility and honest self-examination.
But why?  Everything they said turns out to be true.  And they were the party being attacked.  If a bully comes up and is beating you up for 2+ years and then the principal steps in, should the person being bullied have humility?  Not in my world.

For two years they’ve been calling the Mueller investigation a witch hunt.
Yes, they were telling the truth the whole time according to Mueller's report.  So again, what is wrong with calling it out like it was?  No humility is warranted here. NONE.

For two years they’ve been spreading the libel that there are no honest brokers in Washington.
Well, I don't know about "all".  That seems too inclusive to be fair.  However, we can call out a few names like CNN that were clearly leading the witch hunt.  We can call out Rachel the dog Maddow for profiting from the gullibility of her pseudo intellectual audience.  So again, why should those mentioned above have the need for humility here?  That is an unreasonable request made by the losing side.

It’s all a deep-state conspiracy, a swamp.
Yes, it fucking is!  It's exactly that.  You had the FBI, CIA, DOJ, IRS, Clinton and Obama all conspiring against conservatives in general and Trump in specific.  What a grad conspiracy it actually was AND IS.  So take your sarcastic tone of voice and ram it up your ass, NY Times, because there is CLEAR evidence of bad actors in positions of leadership in ALL of these groups who fucking conspired to bring down Trump.

They should apologize for peddling the sort of deep cynicism that undermines our country’s institutions."
NO fucking way.  Trump basically outplayed all these bad actors and nobody who supported Trump in this has ANYTHING to apologize for.  AT ALL.  Conservatives have been long suffering in this matter.  If you can get public lashes in Singapore for spitting gum on the sidewalk, the likes of Mad Dog Maddow should be publicly tarred, feathered and run out of town on a rail with the road out lines with clapping conservatives.  Don't you DARE try to share the blame, guilt and embarrassment of this failed coup attempt on the right.
