All of a sudden, the cops are starting to care about gaining trust of the public.

I think peak liberalism and peak asshole-copism go hand in hand and I have been writing this since early 2009 in these pages.  The concentration of power and every aspect of it, including globalism, big government, etc. has now gotten the negative attention of the herd, and anyone who doesn't see it and respond to it in a visible way is not going to get favorable treatment going forward.

The ChiTown cops are showing that they get it.  Not only did they offer up Smollett as a public sacrifice (which was still wrong behavior IMO), now they are going after the involvement of prosecutor Kim Foxx for her initial involvement and then after the fact recusal from involvement in the Smollett case.  Initially, she was working directly with Smollett to make it a federal case, outside of the hands of the local PD (i.e. the ones who knew what was really going on).  But once it came to light that Smollett was playing her, Foxx ran for the recusal button.

CWBChicago suggests that her move was too little, too late: "Foxx recused herself late in the investigation, but only after she intervened in the case by asking Chicago Police Department Superintendent Eddie Johnson to turn the investigation over to the FBI at the request of a Smollett relative and a former Obama administration official, according to newly-released emails and text messages.

Foxx and the Smollett relative were put in touch with each other by private attorney Tina Tchen, who served as chief of staff for First Lady Michelle Obama and as an assistant to President Barack Obama.

In a letter to John R. Lausch, the U.S. Attorney in Chicago, Fraternal Order of Police President Kevin Graham wrote, “private attorneys are not allowed to interfere with ongoing police investigations, particularly at the request of private individuals associated with subjects being investigated by the police.”

Graham calls Foxx’s late-hour recusal from the case, “wholly insufficient,” telling Lausch that her conduct “merits a review by your office.

So what's the big deal about having the FBI investigate vs. the local cops?  CLEARLY it was related to the massive corruption that still exists within the FBI that Obama put together.  If this case were under the control of the FBI, Smollett would still be doing interviews today.  The FBI would be looking for the perps indefinitely, just like they are looking for Trump's crimes indefinitely.  The entire leadership of the FBI should be replaced right here, right now.  It is the most corrupt and disgusting law enforcement agency ever to have worn a badge on US soil.  It is totally 3rd world shithole nation class corrupt.  The FBI as it stands today has completely shit all over many past decades of good FBI service.  They are traitors.  You cannot hold this kind of office, wield this kind of power, and stomp on the trust of the people to this degree without having some kind of major overhaul occur.  Bye bye FBI and fuck off on your way about it.
