Hell hath no fury like a liberal scorned.

In my earlier coverage of Smollett's fake hate crime I noted very specifically how the ChiTown cops sent out a high ranking black man to not only discuss the progress in the case but to essentially try the case and convict Smollett in the court of public opinion.   Not only did the cops accuse him of the crime but also opined upon the amorality of having done it.  This, as I pointed out, is not the place of the cops.  So you just had to know damned well Smollett was in for it after that went down.

Well, now we know that Smollett is toast because the government has handed down no less than 16 indictments upon him.  They have already tried him in the public eye and found him guilty (which he certainly is).  So now we might as well already just move to the punishment phase.  And oh, is there ever going to be punishment for this.

But by "this" I do not refer to the crime that he committed.  No, I'm sorry, he deserves 1-2 indictments which should be felony gigs; 4-6 years in prison seems about fair for what he did.  But the prosecutor stayed up all night thinking about every single attack angle to hit him with.  Smollett's lawyer is right.  This is overkill.  This is not how an impartial legal system works.  This, my friends, is personal.

So how did it get personal?  Simple: Smollett tried to con everyone with his fake story, but the only ones who bought it hook line and sinker was the liberals.  And not just liberals, the liberal propaganda establishment.  You know, the ones who put themselves out there as social intellectuals, smarter than the rest of us.  All of the big names went "all in" on believing his story and bloviating in print and on the air live about how bad the black man has it in our "racist" country.  To characterize this as foot in mouth would be a gross understatement.  These rabid and semi rabid liberals jumped into the deep end and now little seems to separate them from the man that they showed such great emotional concern for.  They now feel betrayed and even used by Smollett with his fake story and  insincere and dishonest crocodile tears.

And so that's why Smollett can expect zero breaks in this: he humiliated those liberal fools who went "all in" on his defense and so they are now going to extract their revenge by making an example of him.  That was his biggest offense, not lying to the police.
