New Zealand gun owners now being terrorized by government

In the wake of the shooting in NZ where 50 unarmed people lost their lives essentially for being unarmed and for having outsourced their personal security to strangers who could not possibly be there in time to save them, the NZ government is now looking at a semi auto weapon ban.  Never mind that a lever action weapon and a shotgun were also used in the massacre; let's just ignore those for now.  Let's grab the AR15s and call it a day.  Forget the fact that the only reason twice that number didn't die is that one of those being attacked had a gun and was able to shoot back and chase the attackers off.  Grabbing guns is a great tactic that cops use in order to divert attention away from the fact that they are useless limp dicks when it comes to crisis avoidance.

NZ government let into the country a new culture that some if not many of the locals don't appreciate or like.  That is to be expected, same as any other herd intermingling in nature.  If done on too big a scale over too short a time, conflicts are inevitable.  It just rubs our species the wrong way to endure too much change too quickly.  That should be well understood by all.  The NZ Christchurch attacks were not the act of a lone crazy guy but rather a coordinated attack on two different mosques.  It was a declaration of war on the invading species and the group of murderers who did it are probably being quietly hailed as heroes to those who think like them.  Those people were going to do something about it.  So let's look at the middle east where poverty makes it more difficult to get individual guns.  Lack of guns does not lead to lack of terrorism (or freedom fighter) activity depending on which side you are on.  Explosives are not difficult to make.   You cannot ban diesel fuel and fertilizer.  You cannot ban machetes.  You cannot ban sharp knives.

I'm not advocating for either side.  I'm simply the engineer standing at arm's length to the issue telling the truth as I see it.  It sucks that so many innocent people died but they are not without some if not ultimate responsibility for their own security which they stupidly outsourced to the local police.  As someone who thinks logically, if I were part of the invading species I would be thankful to the local government but would then work within their laws to obtain firearms with which to protect my people.  I would train 15 strong men of the local mosque and arm them and then give them the responsibility to create and implement an approved defense plan for the congregation.  Nobody would be able to stroll in and just begin killing everyone if I were in charge.  Did they not see the potential for this to happen?  And if government begins to take away rights of honest people, do they not see the potential for escalation?  What, is everyone in the world stupid?

Now for the attacker side, killing a bunch of innocent people is attacking the symptom but did nothing toward a solution.  You will now be caught and neutralized publicly by the very people who actually caused the situation in the first place.  Suffice it to say that both your anger and your actions were stupidly misplaced.  If you have to go to the extreme measures that you did, your actions should have been directed at those whose open border policies caused your brains to begin squirming like toads.  Killing them would have made those who take their place consider their own risk in making these kinds of decisions going forward.  But killing masses of innocent refugees does nothing except for increase the need for big government in the eyes of most of the sleepy herd who lack the ability to think critically and logically for themselves.

But the best solution in which nobody dies is for everyone to make it clear that they are armed and dangerous to any attacker because an armed society is a polite society.  Murderers are generally cowards.  The police taught us that many times.  They like to kill using surprise, overpowering numbers or other tactics which ensure there will not be a fair fight.  There is no way these Christchurch murderers could have done their deed if just two well armed and well trained mosque security people were on duty.  And not 3rd party rent-a-cops (including those wearing government uniforms) but rather members of the community who know that their reputations will be shit if they don't stop the attackers or die trying.  Once this in in place, advertise proudly that the mosque is safe for worship and explain to the world why this is so.  The would be murderers will not attack prey that is ready for it.
