No guns? No freedom.

Here is an excellent and educational video from a Canadian commentator warning Americans about the dangers of agreeing to gun registration.  It is the camel's nose under the tent.  It will never end there.  When the people no longer have guns, the government no longer has to fear the people.  The way of this world is that might makes right. Period.  Forget any other song and dance sales pitch because it's all BS.  N. Korea stands because it has proven it is nuclear capable. Iraq fell because it was not.

Perhaps the two most misunderstood topics on the planet are what drives freedom and productivity in citizens.  They are tightly interlinked.  There is no real freedom under a dishonest money supply and productivity eventually collapses without freedom. Greenspan knew this and admitted to it before he joined the fed so many years ago.  Even Hollywood knows it.  Ever watch The Matrix movies?  If so, why did the first attempts by the machines to enslave man fail?  If you are a Matrix afficionado then you will know that The Architect told him that 99% of the people would accept the situation if they were given a choice.  Choice=freedom.  If you've never seen the movies then here is a 7 minute Youtube on the meeting.

There is no freedom at all without the ability to use physical, deadly force against anyone, including government, who would relieve you of your freedom on a whim and with the stroke of a pen.  This is not my opinion.  This is fact and it has been proven over and over and over and over again in history.   There is no need to think about it any further it has been proven so many times.  Absolute power corrupts absolutely and, as the founders of the constitution knew, only the real threat of physical resistance stands as a barrier between a government, any government and the attainment of absolute power over the people.  As soon as people are disarmed the government no longer works for the people.  At that very moment, the people become the property of the bureaucrats running the government.

But, but, Captain, how about American exceptionalism? Other governments out there may be hellbent on depriving citizens of freedom, but not the US of A, no, sir. That would go against everything I learned in Civics class in 6th grade!

People are people the world over. If Americans have been exceptional it was mainly due to the opportunity afforded us by freedom. If the US has been more free than other countries it is mainly because of a raft of good fortune bestowed upon the colonists who displaced the natives (by force). The oceans gave it massive moats for most borders, and an enlightened set of founders who themselves were fresh out of a tyrannical government situation created a fair living situation for themselves and those who would follow.

I don't know if it will ever happen again on this planet. England could not enforce its tyranny very effectively upon the colonies because of the high cost of projecting power across the water. If the colonies had been in some previously unoccupied land in England then no break away would have happened because the tyrants would have had the capability to put the revolution down by force. But that big fat ocean was just too far to fight a remote war across and so the colonies broke free by the skin of their teeth.

Bottom line: in aggregate, man cannot be trusted to rule man. Human weakness always creeps in. The leaders always want something for nothing for themselves and their cronies.

Let me know when the moon colony opens up and they start asking for people to go colonize it. I volunteer to go live there. But take note: the minute the inhabitants of the moon become capable of sustaining and defending themselves they will no longer send anything of value back to Earth.
