You just can't make this stuff up. Below is the first paragraph of the article, all highlights and coloring added by me:
"By a vote of 23-8 today, the Missouri state Senate passed an “emergency” bill
that seeks to nullify virtually every federal gun control measure on the books,
“whether past, present or future.”
House Bill 1439 (HB1439), introduced by Rep. Doug Funderburk (R-St. Charles),
previously passed the House by a vote of 110-36. The bill will now go back to
the house for concurrence on some technical amendments made on the senate side.
If passed, the bill will move on to the Governor’s desk.
With language inspired by Thomas Jefferson, HB1439 declares that the state
rejects the idea of “unlimited submission” to federal power. It also declares
that “whenever the federal government assumes powers that the people did
not grant it in the Constitution, its acts are unauthoritative, void, and of no
force.”
Dear federal government: the "united" status of the United States is becoming a serious question. If that bill is signed into MO law, it does a lot more damage to federal control of that state's population than just remove federal gun restrictions. By including that last bit about any powers that the federal government has assumed unto itself (clearly implied using the word "whenever"), it becomes a "gateway bill" to the nullification of ALL federal power overreaches. MO is saying that congress and Dear Leader have made $hit up out of thin air and then forced it down the throats of the people at gun point. Literally at gun point. It is saying "enough of that". It is saying "Whose serfs do you think the citizens of MO are??? Yours?? NO!! These are OUR serfs and you will not steal control of them from the government of MO.".
Yes, that is precisely what they are saying. MO government is just worried about becoming irrelevant, about getting cut out of the action. In order to get the sheeple to agree (since such agreement will come with some sort of federal blow-back for sure - funds cut here and there, etc.), the pot has to be sweetened relative to what the feds are offering because fed compliance always comes with fat stacks of fake green paper currency which still buys things (for now). So MO government has to give something more tangible to its people, like more rights. Or at least, the restoration of the old rights guaranteed by the constitution. Again, it is no different than any other criminal organization as it enters the end game. In this case the declining credit means there is just not enough free cheese to spread around. As a result, whereas states happily allowed the feds to screw their populations over in the past with unconstitutional laws without any fuss at all, that game is ending now and states want the control back.
While the MO government is just as corrupt as any other, at least the enemy of their enemy is the friend (for now) of the MO citizens. Enjoy it while it lasts folks and use the new freedom to stock up on guns and ammo like never before. You'll probably need them soon enough.
