Social media the politics of business. In other words, they live and die for how well they read the crowd. They exist to mirror back onto the herd that which the herd wants to see and hear. Those who do not reflect the values of the herd will be short lived in politics and social media.
So we have to pay attention when we see big social media platforms like TikTok do a sudden reversal on a major action like intentionally cutting off a conservative anti-abortion group's access. Yet that is exactly what just happened. Tik Tok shut down their account for violation of TOS (which of course is to say, anything they don't like) but then realized it was a huge mistake by the backlash. And so in a panic they turned it back on and then blamed it on "human error". Well at least they didn't lie and call it a technical problem. Someone in authority made the decision but when it blew back on them they were either over ruled or displaced (fired) and the situation was reversed.
Imagine a conservative group getting this kind of treatment even 1 -2 years ago. It would never have happened. The loud minority, AKA liberals, would have swarmed the place saying that it was fair and just for the anti-abortion group to be silenced. But those days are over now. The conservatives used to be the silent majority. We let the children have the run of the place for a while. But enough is now too much and the silence is broken. And it is going to only increase. At some point the silent majority will become the violent majority if all the crazy shit that is happening in our world doesn't regain some sanity. You can only put up with crazy people so long...
