Disney is a liberal piece of shit but Cally needs cash and Disney looks like a fatted calf. So now Disney is cutting and running. They are doing it in phases but rest assured, the decision has been made to exit the shithole formerly known as California.
California has escalating costs. It needs to tax the suckers who live there in order to pay the bills. The more high end jobs and big name employers that leave, the higher the monthly bill for those poor idiots who remain. That's the essence of condominium economics.
If you live in cally then run do not walk for the exit. Sell your overpriced place in cally and tip the fuck on out the door before the value collapses and you lose 7-10 years worth of salary in equity.
