- Taylor is dead. There is no mulligan, no do over.
- Cops who went out to execute a no knock warrant which was later turned into a knock and announce warrant claim they announced themselves. Perhaps they did in their thoughts. But you cannot mistake a knock and announce presence by police. They don't knock. They pound and pound and pound. They get your attention so that you can't ignore them. They don't tap lightly once and then mumble their presence.
- No knock warrants are evil. The risk that something will go sideways like this is far too great to allow them at all. The potential for loss of evidence is NOT a valid justification for the taking of someone's precious, G_d given life.
- The main failure here is that the boyfriend was a crappy shot who did not successfully defend from armed intruders. Had he emptied the clip on those cops, Breonna would probably be alive and he would have a very valid defense given that no drugs were present. The so called color law allows for the death penalty if officials violate your rights under color of law under the right circumstances. That is what happened here.
- There is no valid defense for this by the police. I don't give a flying fuck if they "were just following their procedure". Their bosses who allowed this procedure should be charged along with the cops for her death. Manslaughter at the very least. There simply is no bringing Taylor back. It's done. Money which is printed from thin air should not be used to settle this wrong. The guilty must pay for the damage they caused. Them being cops must not be the reason why they can kill our citizens without repercussions.
- It is no defense for her shooting that the boyfriend shot first. What he did was exactly the correct action in this case. Someone breaks in your front door in the middle of the night? You don't stop to ask questions! You kill the fuck out of them. Period. Blaming first blood on the boyfriend is like going into the lion's cage wearing a meat suit and then killing the lion because he took a bite out of your dumb ass.
COPS must deescalate their tactics. They have to stop treating nonviolent potential offenders like they were the cali cartel. Even if they found drugs in the apartment it would not be a reasonable excuse to end a 26 year old woman's life like that. I'm very sorry the cops made this mistake but now for the good of society, they must be made to pay dearly. And getting fired is nothing. It's a vacation. They need big jail time, at least 10+ years each. And whoever their boss is should be charged as an accessory. Cops cannot stand around and talk about lawlessness while embracing this kind of shit as normal. This is the most lawless, corrupt fucking shit I have ever seen. Cops just bust in without anything but a fucking hunch? A WRONG hunch? Screw that. Never again. And this crap about breaking in at night when people are groggy from sleep? Who thinks that is OK? It's NASTY. It's DIRTY. It's corrupt!
This is why the founders specifically gave Americans the right to keep and bear. Not for hunting but for when the fucking cops are out of control. Just like in Breonna Taylor's case. And I don't give a rat's ass if she was somehow aiding some kind of drug trade. It's not an excuse for killing her. Period.
