They mistake current convenience for "TINA" (There Is No Alternative). They think they can push people around, defund, deplatform, censor, etc. without backlash. Since when is hosting uploaded videos, for example, a difficult technical thing to do?? By being first Youtube has the name reco but it also showed that it is an economically viable model. And that reduces the risk for competition to follow but without having left any economic moats behind.
And so now we are getting all kinds of Youtube variants including this "brand newtube" In 5 months they have replicated in every way what it took youtube 15+ years. There are NO MOATs for YouTube, FaceBook or Twitter. None. People cleave to them as a matter of convenience but now these arrogant fucks actually think they have "power". I give them about 2 more years in the sun and then the bottom will drop out of their revenue because people are tired of being pushed around by young arrogant tech CEOs on power trips.
