Quick question: is a 7 week old fetus a human?

This is a simple check of intellectual honesty.  I really don't care about people's opinions on abortion but I do think that there must be consistency.  If pro abortion people are asked when does the fetus become a human under man's law they will tell you at least up to the third trimester.  Florida, a supposedly conservative state, will tell you that you can abort up to 24 weeks into the pregnancy.

Without either agreeing or disagreeing on the morality of this, check out this criminal case where a man murdered his wife which in turn killed their 7 week old fetus.  He got not one but two life terms for this crime.  I want to know how that is justified.  Either the fetus is a human and deserves protection under the law or it's just tissue which does not get afforded these protections.  If the shooter got charged with murder, how come abortionists don't face the same penalty.

OK, you can make the argument that in the case of an abortion, the mother has rights over her body and if she equates the fetus with, I guess, a fast growing cancer, then she should have the right to have it removed without legal penalty.  But if that is the measure then how can the guy get charged twice for the murder of one human and the death of some cancerous tissue?

This is just one example of how arbitrary laws have become.  People just make shit up willy nilly and they tell you to conform to it or they will send men with guns to bully you into doing things their way.  Logic is not important.  Control and power is all that is important anymore.

So if you are hoping that the US will return to a condition where we can all just openly debate and then let the logic of the arguments decide the direction, forget it.  As long as fake money is controlling the human race, that ship has sailed.  The prosecutors got a nice raise for booking two murder convictions instead of just one.  Justice be damned.  Justice is just a quaint idea.  The only real justice anymore comes from the barrel of a gun.  Might makes right.
