Despite joke biden's loud posturing on gun control, gun owners in conservative states are voting themselves less government overhead when it comes to the right to self protection wherever you might be. In this case, Utah has now signed into state law the individual right to permit-less concealed carry. That means no more background checks, no more government stalling, no more finger printing of everyone like we are all criminals just for wanting to exercise our right to self defense.
“There is no reason a law-abiding person should have to ask for permission to carry a firearm for self-defense, The passage of this bill demonstrates Utah’s commitment to protecting the Second Amendment rights of its citizens. We thank Gov. Cox, Rep. Brooks, and all who supported this important bill.”
-- Jason Ouimet, executive director of the National Rifle Association’s lobbying arm
In opposition we find that typical anti-gun groups have toned their objections waaaay back. Whereas they used to say, guns in the hands of the people are an existential threat to us all, they have now fallen back to tying gun training to the permitting process. Of course, that is clearly a fallback position given that they see that public will is obviously against them now.
“Permitless carry legislation strips states of essential permitting and training standards for carrying concealed guns in public. Training is one of the cornerstones of responsible gun ownership, and removing that element is risky."
-- Moms Demand Action
Apparently the smart people of Utah believe that allowing the liberal front group called "Moms Demand Action" to dictate who is and is not able to defend themselves is even riskier. Good people who want to defend themselves know that carrying a gun is a serious thing. Bad people who want to hurt others don't care what anyone thinks and they love Moms Demand Action and other stupid (or corrupt) liberal groups who advocate that only outlaws should have guns.
