Cops plainly state that they are feeling the new headwind of conservatism.

Liberals will let themselves be pushed around far more than true conservatives because liberals go along to get along and conservatives lean more toward doing what they think is right despite snotty looks from the herd.  One of the major predicted signs that the move was happening was that police would have to step back from being police state bullies.  I guess they now call that "proactive policing" as shown in this article which states police are pulling their horns back in.  Note their motivation for doing it is just what I said it would be: they are scared.  When they had everyone above them watching their back and very few in the population giving a crap when they went full Nazi on someone, the cops were all big and brave and in your face.  Yes, they would bust into a house at 2am in full tac assault gear on suspicion of someone growing pot.  Oh, my, what brave heroes keeping us safe!

But the wind has clearly changed.  Shooting an unarmed youth down into the ground, punching holes through the dying body of the victim as he withered into the pavement, has now gotten the murderous cop charged with everything under the sun.  He will certainly go to prison where I give him 6-12 months before either hanging himself or getting shived to death.  Bye bye, arrogant asshole.  You don't feel so tough without your gun and badge and monkey suit, do you?

And he's not the only one as you can see from this separate incident where a shit bag Chicago cop is now up on murder charges.  That article even admits to the rareness of the incident.  It also mentions another cop up on charges.  What use to be rare as hen's teeth is getting to be downright common.  And with each cop that gets brought to justice, momentum returns to the side of justice making it that much more likely that the next steroid pumped bully cop to abuse one of his employers (i.e. the citizens) will also be brought to justice.
