Mish talks about the ongoing and recently worsened collapse of the Egyptian pound. You can read his take on it here. I don't care about the details of the story. I only want to point out the bottom line as seen by Mish:
"Not Enough Dollars
We see the same story once again: “There are not enough dollars to go around.” Mercy! Get out the printing presses."
Not enough dollars?? How can that be?
This is the hallmark of deflation. The debt Ponzi needs an exponentially growing supply of cash to feed it and the only way for that to happen without the sheeple realizing that the con game was about to collapse is for this increase in money supply is to increase the debt portion of it. If the fed were to increase the monetary base to the level needed in order to stop the deflation, the current run into gold would be as a joke.
Debt is temporary money whereas the the monetary base controlled by the federal reserve is pretty much permanent money. The herd is no longer borrowing at a pace to increase the dollar supply fast enough to prop up the collapse. Its being felt in the weak players first and worst. The dollar continues to strengthen despite government best efforts to debase it and to get everyone to borrow more money, even to the point of using negative interest rates.
Mish mocks the people tongue in check saying "Mercy! Get out the printing presses" because so many have complained about use of the presses in the past (and thus now funny that people would clamor for more printing going forward).
Unfortunately, our federal reserve is now federal reserve of the world. If they let everyone else collapse then there will be even more conflict and perhaps even world war. IF they don't then Americans will see the dollar slide and cost of living increase dramatically. Needless to say I paid $4.35 for a gallon of milk at the PDQ the other day. That used to be $2.35 not long ago.
I'll say again, there is no eventual escape from the collapse of the global debt Ponzi. Short term volatility in the dollar and other fake money aside, all of it will collapse in the not too distant future. We are simply waiting for the wave count to play out.
What wave count you might ask?
GOLD.
GOLD is the only think the the world that can credibly call fiat currency a fraud and a con. Period. That's because only gold is money. So if you want to know what's going on and what's likely to happen, keep an eye on the wave count of gold.
For a couple years now I have been talking about the two major models for gold prices: that of EWI and that of Avi Gilburt.
EWI thinks that gold's collapse into late 2015/early 2016 was the A wave of a giant a-b-c and that the subsequent rally has been nothing but a B wave which might at this point be over according to their model. The C wave could then push gold down into the $700 range at which time it would, per their model, be at a generational low.
Avi says that the great collapse mentioned above was a 2nd wave and that we are now in a 3rd wave up.
While I have been siding with Avi's perspective for many quarters now, nobody knows who will be right about this. The only think we do know for sure is that gold will eventually bottom. Either it already bottomed per Avi or it will bottom with a rapid collapse down to $700 over the next 1- years per EWI. But gold is never going worthless; it will never BK.
So what then? What happens after gold bottoms?
Both EWI and Avi then think that gold goes astronomical. Well, gold is not likely going to do that by itself. It will do it in conjunction with a dollar collapse. It will happen in conjunction with a trade war with China or maybe even just war with China and they will stop sending us all their nice goods for pennies on the dollar for what they could be manufactured here in the states without the benefit of Chinese economic slave labor.
When this happens "not enough dollars to go around" will turn into "awash with dollars" and then the great US "currency event" / hyperinflation will begin. I continue to tell anyone who will listen to stop contributing to a government controlled 401k or IRA and instead use that same money to save up and then buy units of gold or silver coins from the likes of Monex over time (AKA cost averaging into gold and silver). This is not market timing or gambling. This is saving. Those without physical metal gold and silver based savings will be in deep kim chee in the coming years, of that I am personally convinced. No fiat currency ever survived and no its not going to be different this time.

Gun related police deaths up 79% YOY
According to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund website, shooting deaths of police officers are up 79% in 2016 over the same period in 2015.

Gee, who'd a thunk it? It must seem like some like it came out of nowhere for most of the grass grazers in our society but I have been warning the police in these pages for several quarters now that this was going to happen because once the herd finally gives up on the cops policing themselves and once the herd loses the notion that police are some kind of moral authority and once the herd figures out that the police are corrupt to the core and are running a two speed legal system then we are going to see some "Battles at Kruger". The herd will only take so much bullshit from the LEOs before the horns come out. Is it any wonder that the LEOs want to take away the horns of the herd? Is it any wonder that the powers that be keep calling for disarmament of the population? Of course they want to disarm us so that they can ramp up their abuse and lord the police state over us.
The ONLY way to keep these things in check is to have a control loop, a feedback loop if you will. The US and Russia called it "MAD" for Mutually Assured Destruction. Without some credible threat of retaliation there is no reason for a bully to stop pushing his victims around. Is it really that difficult to understand?
I find it comforting that the feedback loop here in my home state of Texas is leading the pack in sending the message to police that, no, the people are not powerless to your police state bullshit and yes, Texans will stand up for themselves. The police need to be partners with the people, not our self-imposed overlords. But things are so bad now that I would never under any circumstances call the police for anything. They are as likely to shoot me as to shake my hand. I have lost all confidence in them and they have not cared that they have pissed on my trust. I see them as having no moral authority whatsoever and their actions show that they have no regard, in fact negative regard for anyone's life but their own. I feel that the police have betrayed the public trust and that only the police can fix this. I hope they do and soon. Not for my sake mind you, but for theirs. The cops either back down out of people's faces with their police state bullshit or this trend is likely going to increase in a very negative fashion for everyone.

Something is very wrong with our police forces.
Witness the curious case of Charles Kinsey who was recently shot by the police for no discernible reason. Mr Kinsey, who by all outward appearances is a good and gentle man and who was completely unarmed at the time, was trying to get a patient of his who is autistic and who had escaped from his care facility, back into the facility. Apparently the cops showed up and then Kinsey fell to the ground in anticipation of being shot for nothing, raising his hands in the air as you can see below. Or maybe he was following police orders at the time. Either way, all I could think of when I saw the video was "Shamu, beached and harmless".
But still the cops shot him in the leg. The story says, "Kinsey told WSVN he was stunned by the shooting, like when a mosquito bites unexpectedly. "When he hit me, I'm like, I still got my hands in the air," he said. "I'm like, 'Sir, why did you shoot me?' " Kinsey said he asked the officer.

"He said to me, 'I don't know.'"
If you watch the vid, the cops are only a few feet away. And they say they thought that the obviously distracted autistic man had a gun and that he might hurt Mr. Kinsey with it. And so apparently the fucking police closed their eyes, pointed their guns in the general direction of Kinsey and fired at least one round. It had to be like that because I can't see how a well trained cop could miss a barn door like that from that distance.
Something is going on here that goes deeper than what we are seeing. As a technology debug expert I know to look for the signs that others just brush off or that they assume must be a coincidence. This is neither. The cop actually told the victim that he did not know why he had fired a round. Of course then the cops went into their usual circle the wagons act and made up a bunch of shit about being scared about a fantasy gun that waaaaaay too often only exists in their minds.
It has to make one wonder what kind of programming is being driven into the heads of these losers. It's so blatant as to be MK-Ultra in nature. It doesn't happen just once or twice but over and over and over again even after many stories about the last cop killing are still airing. I think the correct move here is to have an independent, non government shrink do a psyche eval on Mr. "I Don't Know why I shot you".
The cop in this case didn't even know why he needed to shoot but he was sure enough that the fantasy gun was real that he thought it justified discharging his weapon. Even more interesting is the fact that these cops seem to have zero fear of discharging their guns in public. I mean, you would think there would be a big investigation and the cop better have a damned good reason for doing it. But that has not been the case time and time again. Cops shoot first and then wonder why they did it later. Anyone who puts up with this crap from the cops is ridiculous in nature; a total slave.
There is now a petition going around to fire the cops in question as they hide behind the police union. The cops are lucky that the people there don't just walk in and grab the losers that did it and throw them in jail. I wonder how long that luck will hold out? Probably not forever so don't be surprised if you hear of cities and towns in the US in the future where the people rise up and relieve all the police of their guns, their jobs and their freedom.
