When was the last time you saw a story about a professional sports person living within their means? I mean, living on a set budget that in fact would seem quite modest to many. Well, that's where it is going to as you can see by today's story about Ryan Broyles. Not only is he married and settled down in his life, but he didn't let his $3.6 million, 4 year contract go to his head. He knows he can get injured and he knows that pro sports careers can end in an eyeblink. And so this smart guy is living on a measly 60k per year budget. We know he's not living very big on that but he's living on it and not only that but he's proud of it.
What a far cry from just a few years ago where if you were in pro sports you had to be pimpin' and partying all the time, had to have not one but several high end pasta rockets, etc.
And this is what we are going to see more and more, especially because salaries of movie stars and pro sports titans are going to collapse in the coming years.
Oh yeah, since we are talking pro sports here, let's check in on Michael Sams the proud, first openly gay player in NFL history. Yeah, a lot of big names were coming out of the closet at the time and Michael thought he would throw his hat into that ring as well. It just seemed so... so trendy! Alas, today's sad news is that poor Michael is leaving pro football. What a shocker.
Michael Sam will probably be the last openly gay footballer for the next 30 years.
