Valeant pharma has just become another proof point for the reality about stocks being some kind of savings vehicle. If you see stocks going exponential you know that a bust is going to happen sooner or later, probably because of super high leverage and or fraud. In the case of VRX it was apparently both.
Repeat after me: stair steps up, elevator down. This is what you get for storing your life savings in the Ponzi markets. IF you really want to save something for retirement, buy gold and silver bullion coins. They will never go worthless. Hell, gold and silver weren't even worthless in Mad Max. If gold and silver go worthless then the only thing of value will be lead and powder.
But paper assets? You better just assume they never had any REAL value to begin with. Plan around that and you won't be far wrong at the end of the day.
