It is an economic truism that all new economic value comes from the labor of humans. If this were not the case then elitists would not be trying and succeeding in enslaving their fellow men since time immemorial. Because of this I always wonder at why people object so much to emergency immigration such as is happening in Europe today. These refugees are in dire straits. They want for the basics: food, clothing, shelter, safety from warmongering assholes and maybe just a little peace of mind. Their needs are not great! They do not need new cars (or cars at all for that matter), fancy homes, gourmet food or designer jeans! Just give them a helping hand IN EXCHANGE for their labor (not instead of) and this becomes a massive win-win. It immediately turns a "crisis" into a massive opportunity.
But instead, the visionless idiot politicians are too busy panicking to see the obvious truth which is that fate has gifted them a massive low cost workforce if only they will take advantage of it. It is literally manna from Heavan. Per Mish's article, some of politicians are actually sending out their police to attack these people with rubber bullets, nets, etc. instead of simply treating them as a new class of very willing low cost labor. What the idiots running the show fail to realize is that there is no economic requirement to "give" them anything. Make them work for it all.
Please, you foolish European idiot politicians, send me 30 starving, desperate refugees immediately. Negotiate as part of the deal with the US government on my behalf to make them legal residents who are, due to me paying their entry costs into the US and me putting them to work with zero burden to the economy or to the taxpayer, beholden to me legally for a period of 5 years. Call it a labor apprentice program if you like or the California Conservation Corps or even the enlisted ranks of the US military. All of these programs are different only in degree relative to what I am suggesting. Many similar arrangements have been struck in a win-win fashion thoughout history. You don't have to call them demi-slaves even if that is what they would essentially be.
In exchange for good value of my support in relocation from their war-torn shit hole countries, they will become my indentured servants and recognized as such under the law. Think I'm kidding? Think again. These people are fucked because of their own mistakes. I'm sorry if this sounds harsh but I speak the truth on this matter. Their sin was to not arm themselves in the first place and to not organize and shoot their warmongers in the face when these population-displacing wars threatened to break out. Yes, many would have died but at the end of the day those still living would have a free country that was free of warmongering assholes. Freedom, it turns out, really isn't free. These people didn't want to pay for their freedom and so now they must pay for their mistake.
The fact of the matter is that for whatever reasons, including in many cases simple cowardliness, they have failed to defend their homeland and their homestead. They have herded together in flight when they would likely be better off in aggregate had they chosen to stand and fight. So it is not that I am heartless to their situation but we conservatives believe that every decision and action has consequences. People, refugee-ism is the wages of not arming yourself against tyranny. By failing to defend yourself and your home, you willfully give up your freedom even if you were ignorant to the fact that this is what you were doing. Ignorance does not change reality.
So, EU foolish politicans, stop attacking my demi-slaves and instead send me these 30 people (with reasonable demographics of course; I will not accept 30 75 year old women or 30 orphan children under age 16) and I will put them up on my small farm. It's only 10 acres but the land is fertile and cleared. There is a small house that is in need of repair. I will provide the materials and direct the labor operations. I will provide basic food and clean water and essentials like clothing and toiletries. And then for 10 hours a day - which is less than I typically work at my various obligations - these 30 men, women and even a few children will fix the place up, plant the fields, care for the chickens, pigs and goats that I will supply, cook their own meals and in general take care of themselves. The few children will be home schooled and not a burden on the local system.
The demi-slaves don't have to agree to any of this but if they don't want to sign away 5 years of their lives to this arrangement then let them fight the police somewhere else; I am not a charity and these people do not need charity! They need leadership and work and to receive the benefit of their labor. They need to pull their own weight, not just roll in and demand to be supported. If that's what they think they are going to do, that's when the cops are out with rubber bullets, batons and nets because those who want something for nothing are useless liberals and, having allowed themselves to be displaced because of their own inaction, are liable to be treated like rats instead of the human beings which they are.
I will bring them additional work to do when the farm is up and running producing food for them to eat. The work will depend on the skill sets I receive. If there are technology capable people among them then I will give them computer work to do and the equipment to do it on. Maybe someone has some medical training in the bunch and he/she can take care of injuries, etc that will occur because I damned sure am not going to buy them all ridiculously overpriced $1000/month Obamacare healthcare insurance. Their economic output is unlikely to be able to afford that!
No, socialists and other people who don't understand economics, I will not pay them a minimum wage. As part of my agreement with the government, minimum wage laws do not apply to these refugees. Sorry folks, if I were in need of full price manual labor then I would find local English speaking people to do it. No, the refugees don't get $15 an hour and they don't get $5 and hour and they don't even get $1 per hour. I'm not poor but 30 people x $5 per hour is $150 per hour which is more than I earn myself. Those who demand things for which the math does not work are likely to be gravely disappointed in this and other mattes. So no, they do not get wages. They exchange their labor for food, shelter and necessities. The work they do will, in part, go toward making their lives better.
For example, we will need a large chicken coop put up first. I already have a huge slab poured from a prior coop that used to exist but the building is gone leaving only the pad. I will provide the wood and the materials at my cost and the laborers will build the coop. It's my coop and it's on my property but the workers will get benefit of eggs and poultry once it is operational so this is how they are paid. It would be my expectation that by the end of just a few months the demi-slaves would be engaged in enough productive output that they would be able to feed themselves; I certainly would not sign up to feed them forever. They'd have to scramble like crazy to become self-sustaining.
Likewise, the small house that is on the property will not comfortably accommodate 30 people (to say the least). But they can sleep there and cook meals and there is a toilet and shower to use even if scheduling will be needed to efficiently use these facilities. The house needs a roof so they can start with that. The benefit to them will be to ensure a clean, dry place to sleep. When you are a refugee living on the road, that probably sounds like a bargain. Again, I will provide the materials and tell them how to fix it, they just have to do the work and then they will have a place to hide from the rain and to sleep at night.
Given that no wages will be paid, the farm should be throwing off excess economic value in some form or fashion very quickly. Because 30 people produce 300 hours of human labor a day and only an ignorant politician would fail to see how incredibly valuable that is from an economic perspective. For example, it will produce more eggs than the workers can consume and crops will produce more fresh veggies than they can eat. Someone will therefore tend the roadside produce sales and the money collected will go to pay not only for goods that cannot be produced on the farm like clothing and toothpaste but it will also go into savings that will fund the acquisition of raw materials for building individual cottages for the families. Those who work the hardest will be put higher up on the list to receive their own private dwelling. The dwellings will be small: 600-800 sq ft in size but they will be modern without being luxurious. They will have running water to support a kitchenette, a shower and toilet. They will have individually metered electricity with stated limits. Within a couple years, each family would have its own cottage and the single men could use the main house as a barracks.
I could go on and on but my point is obvious: the only reason there is a crisis of any kind associated with these refugees is that politicians believe that receiving them is a burden and not a blessing. And the burden comes from the belief that all of these refugees should receive something which they did not work for: immediate freedom. They did not work for it and so they do not deserve it. The politicians believe that these people need to consume without producing and that's why they are sending out armed police to combat them instead of welcoming these people with open arms as they should be doing.
So who is the real asshole here: me for envisioning a conservative, paygo, sustainable, win-win demi-slave arrangement or the liberal politicians who only see an onslaught of useless eaters who will be a something-for-nothing drag on their existing citizens? Who is the asshole, the guy that will welcome these refugees with open arms and a big smile or the politicians who beat them and threaten them and baton them and shoot them with rubber bullets (i.e. "less lethal" weapons). Conservatives will see the logic and intelligence and indeed the humanity of my solution. Liberals will call me a meany for wanting to impose my capitalistic terms upon the deal.
The truth of the matter is that the refugees come from areas where the Western powers, actually the US and its sock puppets, started proxy wars for geopolitical ambitions or envy. It's hard to stand up and fight those armed and trained by the US and its minions. Comeuppance is a female dog.
ReplyDeleteSure, the US foments revolution and strife the world over. This is just good for business because War is a Racket. It always has been. Nobody will change that. But I guarantee you if someone tries to bring that to my neighborhood or city or even Texas that I will not be putting my possessions in a suitcase and making a run for the border. I'll be loading up the magazines (not the reading kind) and putting on the body armor. I'd rather be killed defending my freedom than chased around the world as a refugee. If everyone thought like this there would be no refugees. The local population always has the advantage as long as it is prepared in advance (i.e. never allow themselves to be disarmed in the first place because you cannot acquire weapons on a "just in time" basis) and willing to risk life and limb for liberty.
ReplyDeleteAt the end of the day we are all going into the ground. The only choice we have is how.
That's a pretty harsh judgement by someone who's never been shelled with his family. Yet, make no mistake, in the same situation you'd be mortared in 5min without but annoying your killers, AR15 notwithstanding.
ReplyDeletePerhaps. But I won't be chased around the planet as a refugee. We each have to choose our own Hell, don't we? If I thought I could possibly live forever I would certainly have a different take on it.
ReplyDeleteThen again, having had military training perhaps I am just a bit more confident on how to avoid getting mortared. The key is, don't wait for them to get set up. If you sense that their attack is inevitable, don't wait for them to draw first blood. If the Indians on the N.Am. continent had understood this, had understood the existential threat that white men held to their race, they would have rightfully slaughtered every man woman and child that set foot on the N. American coast and things would be a lot different today for them.
