Wow, major sign of new conservatism.

Under the heading of "what next, pigs fly?" I offer today's headline which is that the federal government, after ridiculously raiding the operations of the so called Liberty Dollar, confiscating all of their coins and precious metals under the ridiculous charge of counterfeiting, are now planning to return the stolen booty.

In case you didn't know, the Liberty Dollar organization didn't like paper money.  They thought it was fake, fraudulent currency.  So they sought to create a competing currency based on gold and silver coins as well as paper notes that were backed by gold.  They created their own design which looks nothing like any fake US currency and began to sell the coins into distribution.  Sensing that they were being disrespected, the bankers sent their paid thugs (AKA federal government three letter agencies) in to shut him down by any means necessary.

The bastard government then raided his operations, took everything including millions in gold and cash and then slapped the owner, Bernard von NotHaus (again with the Buckaroo Banzai-esque names...) with multiple counterfeiting-type charges and then in a sham trial convicted him on charges that carried up to 15 years in the slam.

Fortunately, the liberal movement had already been losing a little steam at the time of the conviction in 2011 and the con men running that show stalled and stalled in the sentencing phase.  In fact, he was never sentenced to this date and now I believe there is just too much new conservatism to do it.  The return of his confiscated assets is a clear signal that the fucking criminal FBI is trying to sneak out the back door on this one.  They will tell him he is guilty (so that they are not accused of politically motivated law "enforcement") and then tell him he's suffered enough and no sentence will be imposed.  Maybe 6 months probation or something just to make it look good.

This is like the first crumblings of the Cuban embargo.  Minds had already been made up, the only thing left to do was to manage the face-saving effort.

The FBI will be very, very lucky to sneak out without counter charges on this one and, if such charges are brought, von NutHouse (sic) will win.  This whole thing is like a B grade Hollywood flick.  Someone was badly wronged! Someone needs to be brought to justice!  Where are Steven Segal and Chuck Norris when you need them???

Bye-bye liberals.  Game over.
