The DHS and related "safety" organizations have devolved into nothing more than armed thugs who use broad and selective interpretation of laws and executive decisions in order to steal private property. Today's case can be reviewed here but the M.O. is well understood: roll in with shock and awe, fully automatic rifles, bullet proof vests in overwhelming numbers against 1 or 2 weak citizens and take what they have. Give them no information, provide arbitrary deadlines for taking legal action (which will cost them as much as the lost car), assume they have no rights of any kind and of course if anyone complains then shoot their dog and charge the owner with felony resisting. Fortunately the last two items of the usual MO did not occur this time but the rest of it went down per the playbook.
The government used to do this kind of thing all the time and get away with it. They are now too bold, too cocky about their theft. It didn't use to matter what the people thought because nobody needed our tax money very much when the credit was rising. Debt, folks, debt filled the gap between tax collections and expenditures. But now that this is reversing the tax payer is going to get more respect and this will cause those at the top to rein in their jackboots at all levels. When you can no longer pay the bills simply by printing the money from thin air, you have to go hat in hand to those who actually earn something to beg them for money. It is best to do this if you haven't just violently assaulted them.
The turn is not going to be instantaneous. Bundy Ranch was good for Bundy and others saw the lesson but not everyone will immediately get benefit of it. The jackboots will not give up with their theft ring so easily. But more and more people are becoming aware of these happenings. They now begin to realize that this is not just happening to crooks, it is widespread and they or theirs could be next. I predict a major slap down will soon be coming to the law dogs over this kind of treatment of the citizen. Again, not because they want to stop but because powers at levels above the street centurion realize that an angry taxpayer is one who will resist higher taxes, perhaps violently.
This action can take a number of forms. It could even take the form of citizens killing the attackers, claiming self defense while avoiding prosecution like this guy did. It could be a mini-Bundy where cops are storming a home and well armed neighbor take up arms and confront them on the front lawn forcing them to leave the property behind empty handed. You never know how things are going to go but when the lions get too bold, the water buffalo begin to use those horns that they were given for good purpose.
