Mish has been making the point for a long time now: lots of the supposedly unemployed have been living off of disability fraud so he took a small victory lap about it today. I guess you don't need a job if you conspired with doctors and unions to cash in to the tune of $500k or more per person. So yesterday it was 350 Turkish cops getting busted, today it's 100+ NYC police and fireman scum bags. There is a trend here and the trend is that the pendulum is swinging toward conservatism now. You never see our "hero" public servants get busted like this in the states. This is a wake up call. I believe it's just getting started. If you are one of the many corrupt police, fire or other public leeches that have been bleeding the people of America dry for decades now, you better find a rock to hide under. I know a trend change when I see one.
The fraud that has been committed over the past 20+ years on the back of economically liberal (yes, liberal even during GOP reign) Keynesian policies would boggle the mind. It was all swept under the carpet but now the carpet looks like an elephant in the room and people are starting to notice. The con men have let it go on a bit longer than normal out of fear of making a bad economy even worse. But since Bernanke has signaled that it's OK to taper a bit then that is also the signal to start taxing the banks and putting public "servant" criminal bastards behind bars.
But it's not bad yet. Wait until this trend picks up steam. Wait until some big name bankers get big time jail for past crimes. Those who were "too big to jail" are getting a lot smaller with the improving economy. The feds are going to sacrifice a lot of big name bankers in order to appease the public. It will turn into a witch hunt for sure. Smart NY bankers will be moving their homes to non-extradition countries right this very minute. I would not be surprised to find some of the CEOs abdicate their thrones "to spend more time with their families" (or else be prosecuted).
The Ducks kicking A+E's a$$ like they did was a good omen for honest conservative libertarians.
